Today we started our series of lectures for this module which began with another ‘For Inspiration Only’ presentation. The lecturer showed us examples of work by various designers to again help inspire us to think outside the box and create spaces that are unique.
One of the designers, Atelier Van Lieshout, designed a variety of mini capsules each with differing functions which reminded me of an idea I had for my current design project. I had a thought of creating ‘study pods’ which would be small areas for students to study that included a desk and seating. It’s interesting to see how this idea of a capsule has been used in the past and what other designs already exist.
