Yesterday we went on a course trip to Birmingham to do some inspirational sight seeing. We were given a list beforehand of recommended places to visit with some of them being must sees. The list was as follows:
*= Must see location
- Birmingham New Street Train Station* (we couldn’t really avoid this one due to arriving by train!)
- Birmingham Library* – Shakespeare room
- Ikon Gallery
- Bullring Shopping Centre
- Selfridges*(within the Bullring)
- Custard Factory
- Eastside Projects
- The Bond Company
- Millenium Point
Whilst visiting these places we were encouraged to take photographs of the interiors and exteriors as well as an other interesting things along the way.
Everyone travelled in small groups and within my group we visited 7/11 of the locations and took many pictures, here are a few of mine:
Our 7th location was the Eastside Project which was a gallery/exhibition space however they were in the process of changing exhibitions so I didn’t take any photos.
I had a good day exploring and I think Birmingham is a really great city. My favourite place was probably Selfridges but in terms of architecture I loved some of the old buildings I saw whilst looking round, especially the town hall and city hall. I would love to visit again on a less windy day!
