In today’s theory session we discussed the meaning of form in terms of interior design and how this is closely related to space. We began by brainstorming what terms come to mind when we hear the word form.
We then discussed geometry and proportion and how these are fundamental conditions in creating a form. Forms can be changed in lots of ways such as size, texture, rotation etc. Thinking about this we began an exercise in small groups in which we had to create a floor plan of a home by using a 2D shape repeated and transformed in lots of different ways in order to make a cohesive structure.
