Technical Drawing

Today we had another drawing class, this time on technical drawing. We discussed the different types of technical drawings that an interior designer uses and how they help them to develop their designs.

Our focus was on floor and furniture plans and how to draw these to scale. We all practised using a scale ruler and drawing a few tables from a birds eye view:

We were then given a task of drawing a room by following exact measurements and scaling it down to A3:

I found this a fairly complex task as it was unlike anything I’d done before but I enjoyed being precise and thorough with my drawing and taking my time over it.

Over the next week we each have to independently draw a floor plan of our rooms in our accommodation halls or homes, which involves measuring the interior walls and furniture. I’m looking forward to giving it a go!

  1. Is there any possibility of adding some information to your ‘about’ or ‘home’ tab. If not, you might want to remove them?
