On Monday we had our first drawing tutorial of the course. We started with the basics and each had to draw a series of shapes and lines on our A3 layout pads whilst standing up, so that the page was at arms length. The aim was to become comfortable with drawing shapes fluidly and to eventually fill the page with lots of different drawing techniques as well as different medias, in order to practice and come to terms with the basic drawing skills we need to be designers.

Initial practice drawings
Each fresh drawing started out simple, with a few lines and shapes, then we had to embellish it with cross hatching, colour, rendering and many more techniques:

Drawing 1 – Drawn with black biro, fine liners, crayons and soft pencils

Drawing 2 – Drawn with fine liners, soft pencils, crayons, black biro, oil pastels and felt pens
